Event  1073 on Server 2003
The attempt by user Servername\username to restart/shutdown the computer failed = the event message I am getting a few of these everyday the user listed is the localadmin account for the server, and no one is logged in as that user at the times posted. There is no pending reboot due to Microsoft updates lurking in the backgroud either Thanks

Hi, This issue can be caused by software confliction. Please test the issue in Clean Boot. For the detailed steps of how to perform a Clean Boot, please refer to the section “How to Use System Configuration Utility” of the following Microsoft KB article: How to troubleshoot startup problems in Windows Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325375 What’s the result in Clean Boot? If it works, please enable the disabled services and startup items one by one to narrow down the cause.
